A rich, velvety chocolate mousse made with ripe avocados, greek yogurt, and maple syrup for a healthy, 5-minute dessert.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados (about 9 oz / 250 g, preferably Hass)
1/3 cup (35 g) cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/3 cup (80 g) Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt alternate)
1/4 cup (60 g) maple syrup (or honey)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Remove the seed and peel from the avocados.
  2. Place avocado flesh, cocoa powder, yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt into a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps, scraping sides as needed.
  4. If no blender is available, mash avocados thoroughly in a bowl with a fork before whisking in other ingredients.
  5. Serve immediately or refrigerate for at least 1 hour for a firmer, richer texture.

Notes

  • Ensure avocados are fully ripe to avoid a grassy flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container with plastic wrap touching the surface to prevent oxidation.
